Anything that distracts, fades the power of the moment. Why do we crave those thrilling moments and the adventures? It is because in those moments we are singularly focused? There’s no room for worrying about what other people think, what you said the other day, or what you’re doing next, when you are focused on what you are doing in the now. When you are doing something life threatening or just something brand new to you, you focus on that task without distracting thoughts. Why is that so difficult to access in our normal moments?

This requires conscious effort to focus, to eliminate distractions, to see clearly. With practice it is possible, with soft vision, soft breath, returning again to your point of focus and letting go of the rest. Find the power within your focus and let everything else fall away.
